Andy Juniewicz

Strategic Communications & Media Relations

Andy Juniewicz is one of the most experienced, versatile, and respected public affairs and political consultants in the field today. His career has spanned an impressive array of disciplines and distinctions: newspaper reporter and editor, Cabinet-level city official, adjunct professor and lecturer, advisor to elected officials and government agencies, counselor to corporate executives, and senior strategist in nearly 100 electoral campaigns, from municipal and county elections to state-level and Congressional contests, plus two Presidential campaigns.

While his credentials as a counselor and advisor are impressive, he also has the hands-on experience to "do the work" as well as lead the efforts. He's an exceptional writer and an impeccable editor. He's been a consulting producer for web-based news and informational videos; a creative director for multimedia marketing and advertising campaigns; a speech writer for corporate executives and public officials; and director and manager of website content and design.

For nearly 18 years, beginning in 1980, he was a driving force in helping build the largest independent public relations firm in Ohio, William Silverman & Company, where he rose from senior associate to principal owner and vice chairman. In 1998, he left and established his own independent public affairs and political consulting firm, providing services that include corporate media training, media relations, crisis communications, community relations and public involvement, issues management, strategic communications counseling, and campaign management and coordination.

Before joining Silverman, Juniewicz served in the Cabinet-level position of  Executive Assistant and Press Secretary to the Mayor of Cleveland. In that role, he was a senior advisor to the Mayor and the Administration’s principal media spokesperson. He also coordinated the public relations and public information activities of all other City departments.

He began his career at The Plain Dealer, Ohio’s largest daily newspaper, where his reporting assignments over the years included government and politics, state and federal courts, transportation, criminal justice, and education. When he left the newspaper in 1977 to accept the Cabinet position with the City of Cleveland, he was Assistant City Editor.

His home base is in Northeast Ohio, but he has traveled extensively across the country to represent or assist select clients on an as-needed basis.
